My name is Jenna Henderson and I am the owner of Koinu Clips. I have worked with pets of all different kinds for the last 3 years and plan to continue spoiling the dogs in my care through all inclusive groom services.

I hope to make grooming fun for the many dogs that will require lifelong regular grooming and build relationships with them and their owners to work on what's best for their beloved pets.

Puppies!

Adding a new furry friend to your home is ​incredibly exciting!

Puppies of every breed should start the ​grooming process as early as 3 months old. ​Curly coated breeds (doodles, poodles, ​bichon, etc.) and longer haired breeds ​(shih tzu, havanese, yorkie, etc.) will do ​best getting groomed on a 4-6 week ​grooming schedule while other breeds such ​as double coated breeds (golden retriever, ​husky, lab, etc.) can have a grooming ​schedule of 6-8 weeks. All dogs will ​require brushing at home!

Brushes

Most dog breeds will only require a slicker ​brush and metal comb to keep the tangles ​and mats away. Metal combs are extremely ​important in ensuring your dogs coat is ​tangle free, do not skip this step of ​brushing!

Breeds with short hair benefit from ​brushing with a curry brush as it grips the ​short hair better and aids in deshedding a ​short coat

Matting

Matting is very uncomfortable for ​your dog and can come with a ​large amount of health issues ​including hematomas, bruising, ​damaged hair follicles, and ​irritated or infected skin.

The safest way to remove matting ​is to shave underneath the knotted ​areas. I will always vouch that ​your dog’s comfort and health is ​more important than the way it ​looks and starting over on the ​coat is what’s best.

Matting policy

Dogs who come in with regularly matted coats will be required to come in on a strict 4-6 ​week schedule to maintain your dogs coat, health, and wellbeing. If this schedule is not ​upheld your dog may be groomed short to allow longer time between grooms with a lesser ​chance of matting.

This policy excludes small matting in high friction zones including armpits and behind the ​ears
